Rothchild never liked exposing himself to the riffraff of the public. After all, he was celebrity non grata, or whatever he perceived in the egotistical recesses of his mind. And after all, he was quite famous, so much so that paparazzi were a constant nuisance that stuck to him like glue-stick if given the slightest opportunity.
At two meters tall, sleek as an Adonis with flowing auburn hair, chiseled face, and hazel eyes, Rothchild was God-like who dressed impeccably like a dandy of old. As much as he preferred this primped existence, it complicated his quest for public obscurity, especially when journeying on his plethora of global travels.
Travels or travails? Rothchild pondered as he relived the frightful, unbridled, and fanatic fan rushes and crushes he suffered boarding planes, trains, and ocean liners – but especially the airline travels with the tight quarters and close scrutinizations by fellow passengers, even in first class.
“Disguises yes, are the tonic.” Quoted Rothchild to his loyal manservant Baxter. “But one’s voice, one’s height, one’s affect, one’s being cannot, for certain be concealed in trappings. What must one do to sacrifice one’s very existence for sake of anonymity? Pray, I ask you.”
Rothchild paced in utter frustration and contempt as he relived his excursive nightmares.
“To travel or not to travel? That is the antagonism.”
The End
